RCI Sets its Performance: From 83.6% Annual Performance to 90%.

In the reflection event, it emerged that RCI closed the year with an 83.6% performance achievement rate and now sets its sights on reaching 90% in the upcoming year. This target is rooted in a shared understanding of the evolving operating context and lessons learned through inclusive, team-driven reflection processes.
The session was also a platform to reaffirm ownership and alignment around RCI’s strategic trajectory, including the implementation of the institution’s Annual Action Plan, Capacity Building Plan, and Procurement Plan for 2025–2026. These initiatives represent RCI’s commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement at all levels.
The reflection aligns with Rwanda’s broader development priorities under Vision 2050 and the National Strategy for Transformation (NST2) as well as with RCI’s Strategic Plan (2021-2026).
Opening the session, RCI CEO Patricie Uwase underscored the significance of the day:
“We are here to reflect on the past financial year and prepare for the year ahead. These plans must resonate deeply within us. Each of us must take charge and be the change the company needs.”
Her remarks set a strong tone, emphasizing personal responsibility, institutional cohesion, and a shared commitment to delivery and results.
As part of fostering a performance-oriented culture, the institution recognized Mr. Jean Marie Vianney Bunani, Assistant Manager for Training and Study Visits, as RCI’s Best Performer for 2024–2025. The recognition was based on a staff-driven evaluation process, with criteria including knowledge sharing, problem-solving, customer focus, discipline, and alignment with RCI’s core values of delivery, excellence, and collaboration.
Toward a Shared Mission
Looking forward, RCI is fully engaged in implementing its 2025–2026 Action Plan. The reflection session served as both a reset and a recommitment to a collective mission. It renewed the spirit of teamwork and accountability that lies at the heart of RCI’s identity—as a hub for knowledge exchange and a driver of innovative, context-relevant development solutions, nationally and internationally. Above all, the session reinforced a central RCI value: delivery—defined not just by planning but by prioritizing time and resources to achieve tangible, high-quality results.
Relatedly, RCI staff took note of the budget performance report and celebrated clean audit report for the financial year 2023-2024.
