On 30th September 2024, Uriel Impact Generation, a non-profit organization from Ghana focused on leveraging volunteerism to support human development in underserved communities concluded its study tour referred to as “transformative.”

The study tour aimed at gaining insights into Rwanda's successful initiatives, particularly in the areas of sanitation and community-driven development, health and education, with the intention of applying similar strategies to address challenges in Ghana.

During their visit, the delegation was received by Rwanda Cooperation, and interacted with multiple other Rwandan institutions, gaining a comprehensive understanding of Rwanda's progress in areas including economic planning, youth development, environmental management, education, infrastructure, and health. The delegation explored Rwanda's approach to youth empowerment through business skills development and entrepreneurship programs. They visited a youth-friendly center in Kimisagara and discussed Rwanda's vision for the youth sector and its coordination structure.

Throughout the visit, the delegation from Uriel Impact Generation was able to observe firsthand how Rwanda’s transformative policies and good governance have contributed to its progress.

While participating in Community Work (Umuganda), Ms. Yayra Portia Klu, the founder of Uriel Impact Generation, commended Rwanda's citizen-centered initiatives like Umuganda, which fosters youth volunteerism and community development. She expressed her admiration for the commitment of local leaders and the collective spirit that drives development at the grassroots level.

Rwanda Cooperation's Chief Operations Officer Dr. Willy Mugenzi, underscored the significance of South-South cooperation, expressing gratitude for Uriel Impact Generation's choice to benchmark Rwanda's best practices in governance and community development, health and education. He reaffirmed the commitment to sharing Rwanda's transformative initiatives with other African nations, reinforcing the existing principles - African Solutions to African Problems, complementarity between global north and countries in global south to solve development challenges. He cited Rwanda’s Umuganda as a relatable case of community development initiative by Rwandans and for Rwandans.
